1 Nephi 21:2 - 21:6
1 Nephi 21:2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
His words will not be pleasing to all of the house of Israel. Having your faults and sins revealed is not pleasant to experience to the listeners who are guilty of such things. His words are likened to an arrow that cuts the flesh and interior organs as it enters the body. So his words of accusation will be to the sinner.
1 Nephi 21:3 And said unto me: Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Isaiah says that Israel is the people the Lord has chosen to be His representative on earth. They are an example on how one should live his life to enjoy this mortal life. And how one can tap into the blessing of heaven.
1 Nephi 21:4 Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for naught and in vain; surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God.
But it appears that the Lord has labored for nothing. The children of Israel has rejected their God and are now subject to his judgment.
1 Nephi 21:5 And now, saith the Lord—that formed me from the womb that I should be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him—though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength.
Even thought this person will not be listened to or his warnings headed, he will be held in high esteem by many and by the Lord himself. And the Lord will strengthened him so he can continue his work.
1 Nephi 21:6 And he said: It is a light thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the ends of the earth.
Israel will not consider this servant a big deal. They will not even consider that is what he is called to do for them in order to bring to pass all the blessing awaiting them as promised to Abraham. Therefore the Lord will bring these blessing to the Gentiles. This in order to bring to blessing to Israel in a round about way the blessing as promised. The gospel will be restored to them through the Gentiles to all the earth.
