2 Nephi 4:6 - 4:10
2 Nephi 4:6 Wherefore, if ye are cursed, behold, I leave my blessing upon you, that the cursing may be taken from you and be answered upon the heads of your parents.
However, Lehi does leave them a blessing that if a cursing does come upon them because of the poor examples of their parents and their parents failure to teach them the gospel, their parents themselves will have to answer for that in the day of judgment. The children will not be held accountable for the cursing at least.
2 Nephi 4:7 Wherefore, because of my blessing the Lord God will not suffer that ye shall perish; wherefore, he will be merciful unto you and unto your seed forever.
In the day of judgment, the neglect of their parents will be taken into account and the Lord will give them a pass because they had no control over the environment they were raised in and the subsequent life styles they only knew in their lifetime.
2 Nephi 4:8 And it came to pass that after my father had made an end of speaking to the sons and daughters of Laman, he caused the sons and daughters of Lemuel to be brought before him.
After speaking to Laman’s kids, Lehi turns to Lemuel’s children.
2 Nephi 4:9 And he spake unto them, saying: Behold, my sons and my daughters, who are the sons and the daughters of my second son; behold I leave unto you the same blessing which I left unto the sons and daughters of Laman; wherefore, thou shalt not utterly be destroyed; but in the end thy seed shall be blessed.
He leaves the same blessing on them as he did on their cousins. Their descendants will not be completely wipe out in the future when those prophesied come to the promise land and settle it and drive them off their lands to have it for themselves.
2 Nephi 4:10 And it came to pass that when my father had made an end of speaking unto them, behold, he spake unto the sons of Ishmael, yea, and even all his household.
Lehi speaks to the sons of Ishmael and all those of Ishmael family that are in Lehi’s company. What he tells them is not written but it was probably the same as what he told his two older sons children. The sons of Ishmael seemed more sympathetic to Laman and Lemuel then to Nephi.
