2 Nephi 12:6 - 12;10
2 Nephi 12:6 Therefore, O Lord, thou hast forsaken thy people, the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and hearken unto soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
As a result, the Lord has withdrawn his prophets and words to them. They have let themselves follow the philosophies and the gods of all the peoples that surround them in Palestine.
2 Nephi 12:7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
The house of Israel have been tempted by the gold and silver of these nations. They are more interested in possessions than godliness.
2 Nephi 12:8 Their land is also full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
The gods of their neighbors are the making of their own imaginations and hands. They made their gods rather than allow the true god to help them along.
2 Nephi 12:9 And the mean man boweth not down, and the great man humbleth himself not, therefore, forgive him not.
Both the unloving person and the one who thinks he knows it all will not come to the true god. As a result, men are left to themselves and they naturally follow after whatever comes to their imaginations. (Man seems to what some sort of god to worship or follow even if they have to make up something. I think that God does give them ideas and allows to create them so they can see the folly of their imaginations. After a while they see that they are not real and then look for something else. God keeps putting before them all sorts of concepts and ideas hoping that at some time they will tire of the quest and come to see that only the gospel has what they are looking for.)
2 Nephi 12:10 O ye wicked ones, enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for the fear of the Lord and the glory of his majesty shall smite thee.
When the Lord comes, the wicked will wished to be hidden from the glory of his coming. They will know that if they come into his presence they will not be very comfortable and will want to get away from Him and be somewhere else.
