1 Nephi 13:24 - 13:28

1 Nephi 13:24 And the angel of the Lord said unto me: Thou hast beheld that the book proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew; and when it proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew it contained the fulness of the gospel of the Lord, of whom the twelve apostles bear record; and they bear record according to the truth which is in the Lamb of God.

The angel points out to Nephi that the book he observes whose origin is from the Jews contains the fulness of the gospel. It contain all that is necessary for salvation in the kingdom of heaven.

The Book of Mormon contains the fulness but it does have such doctrines as baptism for the dead. I think that this means it has all that is necessary to get to the celestial kingdom but all not all the doctrines that the gospels contains. These are to be revealed in or by other means such as prophets and other revelations.

Anyway this record that Nephi sees or the Bible contains the fulness and the twelve apostles are bearing record of the doctrine in them contains the fulness or at least what is minimum to return to God’s presence.

1 Nephi 13:25 Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God.

And these records are to go forth to the world as originally written without any changes. The doctrines are pure and or great worth to anyone who has a copy of the book and uses it to live by.

1 Nephi 13:26 And after they go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of that great and abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away.

However, Nephi is again show this organization or the ‘great and abominable’ and it has gotten its hands on this book and made changes to it. Since this organization is founded by satan, it has made changes so as to corrupt the doctrines. It has altered the important parts or even removed them altogether.

We can see this in churches which say for example that baptism is no longer necessary or that is can be done by just sprinkling water on the subject. What is most notable to me is that the doctrine of baptism is almost completely absent from the Old Testament. The Holy Ghost is not mentioned at all. One might think that the Holy Ghost only started to carry out its mission at the time of Jesus.

In addition, Temple ordinances are totally missing. But it can be shown that they were known and practiced by modern revelation. Knowing this, it confirms the concept that God is an unchanging God and that he is the same yesterday, now and forever. That what He is requiring us to do today is the same as was required of the ancients. These doctrines are missing from the Bible.

1 Nephi 13:27 And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men.

However some of the doctrines such as baptism are there. They managed to survive. It think that maybe satan could not get the translated to get rid of them because God wanted them still to be in there, so he got the churches to adopt creeds to lesson its importance. They now say they were important then but not now. And the only proof of this is their word only. In any case these churches did these things to make themselves the interpreters of the word and thereby be able to control the people so they could get power and gain.

1 Nephi 13:28 Wherefore, thou seest that after the book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God.

So Nephi sees that the book is altered by this church by the taking out important doctrines that are necessary for salvation. This book once had all them in it but were removed. I guess it was by either corrupt men or by those who truly thought that some doctrines were no longer important for whatever reason.
