2 Nephi 3:21 - 3:25

2 Nephi 3:21 Because of their faith their words shall proceed forth out of my mouth unto their brethren who are the fruit of thy loins; and the weakness of their words will I make strong in their faith, unto the remembering of my covenant which I made unto thy fathers.

It will be because of the great concern for their descendents and their welfare that the book will go forth to them in their time and place. Because they know that the Lord will honor their desires for their descendents that the book will come to them. And in spite of the simple concepts in the book, they will make the hearers of the word strong in faith that they too can do mighty works in their time and place for those around them. The book will in particular acquaint them of the promises made to Abraham which were not made know to them by the corruptness of the churches of their time.

2 Nephi 3:22 And now, behold, my son Joseph, after this manner did my father of old prophesy.

Lehi reiterates again that all these words were from Joseph of Egypt who lived many years in the past but was allowed to see the future and what some of his descendents would do for the salvation of rest of his descendents.

2 Nephi 3:23 Wherefore, because of this covenant thou art blessed; for thy seed shall not be destroyed, for they shall hearken unto the words of the book.

And because of these things, Lehi’s son Joseph will partake of these blessing. In addition, his descendents will not be destroyed if they will adhere to the concepts that will be in the for mentioned book that will come forth among them.

2 Nephi 3:24 And there shall rise up one mighty among them, who shall do much good, both in word and in deed, being an instrument in the hands of God, with exceeding faith, to work mighty wonders, and do that thing which is great in the sight of God, unto the bringing to pass much restoration unto the house of Israel, and unto the seed of thy brethren.

Lehi tells Joseph of the prophet that he told Jacob his other son born in the wilderness about. One who will do what the Lord wants him to do in relation to the salvation of mankind. He will do great wonders and accomplish works that will seem to beyond belief that one could do so much in one lifetime. His main goal will be accomplished, that is, of bring to pass the restoration of the knowledge that God is truly in control of the world and that the house of Israel will know of it's destiny and how it will be accomplished. This prophet will do all this in his lifetime.

2 Nephi 3:25 And now, blessed art thou, Joseph. Behold, thou art little; wherefore hearken unto the words of thy brother, Nephi, and it shall be done unto thee even according to the words which I have spoken. Remember the words of thy dying father. Amen.

Now even though Lehi’s son Joseph is still a child, he wants him to remember his last words to him. In addition if he will follow his older brother Nephi, he will have all the blessings promised him will come to pass. Nephi will lead him alright.
