2 Nephi 10:21 - 10:25

2 Nephi 10:21 But great are the promises of the Lord unto them who are upon the isles of the sea; wherefore as it says isles, there must needs be more than this, and they are inhabited also by our brethren.

But there are other “isles” and they also have parts of the house of Israel inhabiting them. They are also subject to the same promises made by the Lord to them

2 Nephi 10:22 For behold, the Lord God has led away from time to time from the house of Israel, according to his will and pleasure. And now behold, the Lord remembereth all them who have been broken off, wherefore he remembereth us also.

The Lord has from time to time lead others away to other lands when it suits His purposes. And it is to be always kept in mind that the Lord knows where they are and has not forgotten the promises made to them just as He has not forgotten the descendents of Lehi.

2 Nephi 10:23 Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.

As a result of knowing that they are not forgotten, they should be content with their situation as it is for there own good whether they can see it or not. They should also be happy to know that they are not forced to be righteous. This allows them to seek for it if they wish. Those who seek for something of their own volition are always more dedicated than those who feel they must because of obligations or are forced as in slavery. Having the choice gives you this chance to develop yourselves which you would not do if you felt you were be forced into it.

2 Nephi 10:24 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.

So if you want to enjoy the happiness of being able to do what you want rather than being forced, than learn of God’s ways. If you don’t want to be directed by God then the devil will lead you about. The devil takes over when you want to do whatever you feel to do at the moment.

You must also realize that because God is so much superior to you that it is because He loves you that He does this for you. You could not perfect yourself regardless of how hard you've tried. Mortals just do not have the ability to do so. It is only because God wants the best for you that you have this chance.

2 Nephi 10:25 Wherefore, may God raise you from death by the power of the resurrection, and also from everlasting death by the power of the atonement, that ye may be received into the eternal kingdom of God, that ye may praise him through grace divine. Amen.

Jacob therefore hopes that his people will be take advantage of the atonement so that when they are resurrected they can gain entrance to the kingdom of God where we can all give Him the thanks for all He has done for us.
