1 Nephi 13:34 - 13:38
1 Nephi 13:34 And it came to pass that the angel of the Lord spake unto me, saying: Behold, saith the Lamb of God, after I have visited the remnant of the house of Israel—and this remnant of whom I speak is the seed of thy father—wherefore, after I have visited them in judgment, and smitten them by the hand of the Gentiles, and after the Gentiles do stumble exceedingly, because of the most plain and precious parts of the gospel of the Lamb which have been kept back by that abominable church, which is the mother of harlots, saith the Lamb—I will be merciful unto the Gentiles in that day, insomuch that I will bring forth unto them, in mine own power, much of my gospel, which shall be plain and precious, saith the Lamb.
This all will take place after Lehi’s descendants are driven before the Gentiles and the Gentiles themselves are having a difficult time in deciding what is the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Lord will restore the Gospel to them.
The Lord will do so with his own power not by man intellectually figuring out what the Gospel should contain. The parts of the Bible which has been changed that have caused people to misinterpreted the Gospel will be restored. The intentions of all organizations, whether religious or not, will be not be allowed to continue to influence the world incorrectly. Man will see that it is the Lord’s way or no way.
1 Nephi 13:35 For, behold, saith the Lamb: I will manifest myself unto thy seed, that they shall write many things which I shall minister unto them, which shall be plain and precious; and after thy seed shall be destroyed, and dwindle in unbelief, and also the seed of thy brethren, behold, these things shall be hid up, to come forth unto the Gentiles, by the gift and power of the Lamb.
Nephi sees that the Lord will come personally to visit his descendants in the future. He will give them laws and ordinances which He will cause to be recorded. These will be the things that were removed by the above mentioned groups and churches.
As Nephi’s descendants are destroyed and not longer desire the influence of the Gospel, the records which will contain the words of the Savior will be hidden and come forth unto the Gentiles sometime in the future. Again it will be by the power of God. Man will not even know of its existence to even wish for its coming forth.
1 Nephi 13:36 And in them shall be written my gospel, saith the Lamb, and my rock and my salvation.
These writings (The Book of Mormon) will contain the gospel. They will be the salvation of the people in the last days. They will correct the errors and misinterpretations of all those who have try to change the gospel to suit their own concepts whether for an evil purpose or unwittingly.
1 Nephi 13:37 And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be.
And those who want to bring forth this gospel shall have the power of God with them to do so. If these individuals will keep it up until the ends of their lives, they will be allowed to enter the Celestial Kingdom. The Lord praises those who have this great desire. They will have great joy in their efforts to bring peace to the world. They are described having a beauty that equivalent to those who go to the Temple as mountain tops are a substitution for Temple.
1 Nephi 13:38 And it came to pass that I beheld the remnant of the seed of my brethren, and also the book of the Lamb of God, which had proceeded forth from the mouth of the Jew, that it came forth from the Gentiles unto the remnant of the seed of my brethren.
Nephi now sees that the Bible coming to his descendants by way of the Gentiles. This is the time of the Gentiles, but most do not understand that this was like it was during Old Testament times. The Jews had the scriptures and prophets but could not remain faithful to either. Now the Gentiles are in place of the Jews and are acting like the Jews in paying attention to neither.
