2 Nephi 15:11 - 15:15
2 Nephi 15:11 Wo unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, that continue until night, and wine inflame them!
Warnings to those who are drunkards. The those who spend their days in drinking parties.
2 Nephi 15:12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.
To those who only want to party and listen to music all day. Who will not listen to the Lord or be engaged in helping their poor neighbors. And especially to those who have turned their backs to the Lord and only think of their own pleasures.
2 Nephi 15:13 Therefore, my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
Because the Jews have not been faithful to the gospel, they have lost all knowledge of the true meaning of it. Their good men are without direction and the people are have no clue as to how to behave themselves in the face of danger.
2 Nephi 15:14 Therefore, hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
They are no longer fit for heaven and the devil is now their god. He waits for them. All their traditions, rituals, political power and influence will not free them from the devil’s power. They are his.
2 Nephi 15:15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.
When they see what is their condition in hell they will realize their folly and know that they have wasted their time in their material pursuits.
