2 Nephi 16:1 - 16:5

2 Nephi 16:1 In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

In about 750 BC Isaiah had a vision in which he saw the Jehovah sitting on a throne in the Temple surrounded by angels.

2 Nephi 16:2 Above it stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

The throne had angels about it in the air. Each angel had six wings. Two wings were used to cover the face. Two wings to cover the feet and the remaining wings to fly with.

2 Nephi 16:3 And one cried unto another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.

And one of these six winged angels gave testimony as to the plan of salvation that the Lord was carrying out among His children on earth.

2 Nephi 16:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

As the angel spoke, the door jams of the Temple moved and the building filled up with smoke. (Not much in the way of ideas as to what this all means. Think it may mean that the door way is expanding to let in all who want to come to the gospel and the smoke may mean the deceptions of the devil to keep people from finding this doorway. Just an idea. Maybe a mile off.)

2 Nephi 16:5 Then said I: Wo is unto me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips; and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts.

Isaiah comes now to the personal assessment that he is out of place in this setting of angels and Jehovah. He thinks he is unworthy of being in their presence and the cultural influences of his people may have had undue influence on his personality.
