2 Nephi 7:6 - 7:11

2 Nephi 7:6 I gave my back to the smiter, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair. I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

He will do so even if means great bodily harm and being subjected to public humiliation. He will not back down one bit in doing what the Father as commissioned Him to do.

2 Nephi 7:7 For the Lord God will help me, therefore shall I not be confounded. Therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

The Messiah will not be left alone in dealing with those who approach Him and who want to discredit him. The spirit will give Him any additional help He might need to deal with troubling situations.

2 Nephi 7:8 And the Lord is near, and he justifieth me. Who will contend with me? Let us stand together. Who is mine adversary? Let him come near me, and I will smite him with the strength of my mouth.

God will give witness as to the mission of the Messiah. And who will contend with that witness? Anyone who thinks he can defeat such a testimony will be put down by the power of testimony and knowledge.

2 Nephi 7:9 For the Lord God will help me. And all they who shall condemn me, behold, all they shall wax old as a garment, and the moth shall eat them up.

Again God will be by the side of the Messiah. They who condemn the Messiah as other than who He is, will surcome to the witness of Him by the spirit as a moth which eats old cloth.

2 Nephi 7:10 Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness and hath no light?

Who is there in the world that are looking for the truth who want to obey the word of the Lord? Where are those who want the gospel but do not know where to find it?

2 Nephi 7:11 Behold all ye that kindle fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks, walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks which ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand—ye shall lie down in sorrow.

So anyone who thinks he is ok in his life style and personal philosophy will find out in due time he has been deceived by the world and the devil. He will soon find out that he has wasted his mortal time on earth and will morn over the lost opportunities he could have had for true peace and happiness.
