2 Nephi 21:1 - 21:5

2 Nephi 21:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.

In time the Messiah will be born and live among mankind on this earth. He will give us knowledge of the gospel that will spread throughout the earth.

2 Nephi 21:2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

This Messiah will have the spirit of the Lord about him in is actions and sayings. He will do exactly as our Father in Heaven directs Him to do and He will complete His mission among us.

2 Nephi 21:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears.

He will be able to see just exactly what each individual needs that He encounters during His ministry and how to help them. He will be a caring and non judgmental as He works with all He encounters.

2 Nephi 21:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

Those who have persecuted some because of their poverty or have made others to be poor will be shown their evil actions and sorrow therefore. The poor will be given what they need and all will be equal in having both their needs and wants satisfied. The wicked will morn their actions towards the poor and will be fore a time punished therefore.

2 Nephi 21:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

He will come in righteousness. All will see together His goodness.
