2 Nephi 29:6 - 29:10
2 Nephi 29:6 Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible. Have ye obtained a Bible save it were by the Jews?
Again the fool in his heart has said there is no need for additional scripture. They should have seen the need by how the world was in the grips of wickedness. In addition, they should have figured out that the Bible is from one group of people and could there other groups of people who may have also produced scripture?
2 Nephi 29:7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?
In fact there are other groups of people or nations on this earth. The Lord has created them all. He is just as concerned for them as He has been for the Jews and well as for the Gentiles too. He is the ruler of all the earth and all people upon it. And He brings forth is word to anyone who will receive them regardless of their lineage.
2 Nephi 29:8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.
Why does the world have a problem with the coming forth of more scripture? Does not the world know that there are more nations than just the Jews? Have they not read where is says that two or more witness are necessary to testify of the reality of God? The purpose of scripture is to teach people of God and that He is anxious that everyone know about the Gospel. Therefore He speaks to everyone on this earth. One nation is no better than another. He will speak to whoever will listen to Him. In addition, the scriptures from more than one nation will all merge together to give evidence of God’s love for us all.
2 Nephi 29:9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.
God does give scripture to all nations that will accept it to prove that He has always loved His children and will continue to do so forever. He has never changed His methods of giving us what we need to return to Him.
Since his children seem to need constant attention, He is giving scriptures to help them deal with their mortal experience. And know that will also be the case, He will be giving scriptures to us on a constant bases until all the work of God is completed.
2 Nephi 29:10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written.
Just because men may have the Bible they need not think that it has all the words that God ever said to His children. In addition, men cannot suppose that God has never produced any other scriptures either.
