2 Nephi 12:16 - 12:22
2 Nephi 12:16 And upon all the ships of the sea, and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
Even those who are at sea or on vacation in resorts will find themselves under His judgment.
2 Nephi 12:17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.
Again regardless of how intelligent or well read a person maybe, they will come to know that their knowledge of the ways of men are valueless to them in the eternities. Only the Lord knows the correct path to follow and we all will know it in our hearts.
2 Nephi 12:18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
All those material things we have set are hearts on will be shown to be valueless when we see what we should have been devoting our time too.
2 Nephi 12:19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the glory of his majesty shall smite them, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
The wicked will being looking for a hole to hide in when the Lord comes in glory. His goodness will make them so uncomfortable that they will seek every avenue of escape from His judgment.
2 Nephi 12:20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which he hath made for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
The wicked will realize that the idols they worshiped were false gods and will pitch them away.
2 Nephi 12:21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the majesty of his glory shall smite them, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
Again the wicked will not want to be around the Lord for they will feel so out of place that they will fear that the Lord will play back all their wickedness and that will cause deep anguish in their hearts.
2 Nephi 12:22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of?
Therefore as a warning to us, do not put any trust in man’s philosophies and his politics. They will not elevate man towards godhood but will bring him down to misery and pain of a pricked conscience.
