2 Nephi 12:1 - 12:5
2 Nephi 12:1 The word that Isaiah, the son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
Isaiah will record what he saw concerning the history of both Judah and Jerusalem, past and future.
2 Nephi 12:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, when the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it.
He saw the building of a Temple in the mountains and all nations came to it. (This refers to the building of the Salt Lake Temple in the Rocky Mountains and probably other Temples as well. Since church headquarters is there as well many come to visit and confer with the prophet as well.)
2 Nephi 12:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
This building of the church headquarters will be a beacon to many people of the world to come and learn about the gospel. Converts will be gained and they will want to conform to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. Out of Salt Lake will come the leadership of the Church and out of Jerusalem will come the words of the Lord to all the world.
2 Nephi 12:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plow-shares, and their spears into pruning-hooks—nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
The nations and their leadership will be assessed by the standards of the gospel to see how they conformed to it. They will then be told to quit wasting time and money building weapons of war. Instead they will be commanded to build farm equipment and other things that help man progress. Wars between nations will cease and warfare will not longer be taught to men.
2 Nephi 12:5 O house of Jacob, come ye and let us walk in the light of the Lord; yea, come, for ye have all gone astray, every one to his wicked ways.
Isaiah pleads with the house of Israel to live up to the standards of the gospel. All of these descendants have turned from the gospel plan and have fallen victim to the precepts of men.
