1 Nephi 14:23 - 14:27

1 Nephi14:23 Wherefore, the things which he shall write are just and true; and behold they are written in the book which thou beheld proceeding out of the mouth of the Jew; and at the time they proceeded out of the mouth of the Jew, or, at the time the book proceeded out of the mouth of the Jew, the things which were written were plain and pure, and most precious and easy to the understanding of all men.

The events that John will record in the Book of Revelation will be a true account. It will be in the Bible that the Jews will originate. The original publication will have not been altered by evil men until later. But the material before alteration will be easy to understand by most everyone. And not only easy to understand, but will be held as more valuable then any material of this earth. It is a little confusing but the angel wants us to know that John’s record will be book form not given to us in oral form. Again the revelation will be easy to understand when it first come forth.

1 Nephi14:24 And behold, the things which this apostle of the Lamb shall write are many things which thou hast seen; and behold, the remainder shalt thou see.

Nephi is told that what John will write, he has already seen in vision and the remainder he will have the privilege to witness.

1 Nephi14:25 But the things which thou shalt see hereafter thou shalt not write; for the Lord God hath ordained the apostle of the Lamb of God that he should write them.

However Nephi is told that he is not to write down what he will sees that John saw. The Lord wants only John’s record to come to us of these things. Evidence that at times we have things revealed only for our enlightenment and not for public consumption. I can only guess at what Joseph Smith was shown that he was forbidden to tell us. I might find it hard to not tell, but maybe that he saw would alarm people so he could keep them to himself without the desire to share them. I don’t think I have ever been given anything I was to keep to myself.

1 Nephi14:26 And also others who have been, to them hath he shown all things, and they have written them; and they are sealed up to come forth in their purity, according to the truth which is in the Lamb, in the own due time of the Lord, unto the house of Israel.

Nephi is told that others have seen this stuff and have written them down. And they will come forth in some future time to the house of Israel. Wonder if they might include the Dead Sea Scrolls and other writings discovered buried long ago?

1 Nephi14:27 And I, Nephi, heard and bear record, that the name of the apostle of the Lamb was John, according to the word of the angel.

Nephi learns the name of this apostle who will make this record. His name will be John.
