2 Nephi 3:16 - 3:20

2 Nephi 3:16 Yea, thus prophesied Joseph: I am sure of this thing, even as I am sure of the promise of Moses; for the Lord hath said unto me, I will preserve thy seed forever.

Joseph of Egypt bore his testimony of not only this seer but of Moses and his mission. Moses will also do as Joseph of Egypt in bring salvation by leading the people out of Egypt back to Canaan. Again leading the children of Israel to where they could learn of the saving ordinances of the gospel and engage in them.

2 Nephi 3:17 And the Lord hath said: I will raise up a Moses; and I will give power unto him in a rod; and I will give judgment unto him in writing. Yet I will not loose his tongue, that he shall speak much, for I will not make him mighty in speaking. But I will write unto him my law, by the finger of mine own hand; and I will make a spokesman for him.

This Moses will be born in the time and place that was designated for him. His birth is not a coincidence. It was planed and happen as planned before the world was. He will have power given to him which will be shown in his staff that he will carry. He will also be a complier of the records of the history of the world up to his time. He will write this history for the world to have. Even through he will have power in his staff and in his writings, he will not be a persuasive speaker. Another will be called to speak for him.

But from him will come the law which the children of Israel shall live by. It will be written by God’s own finger. (They will have to have specific laws because they will not be able to live their lives by the concepts such as loving God and their neighbor.)

2 Nephi 3:18 And the Lord said unto me also: I will raise up unto the fruit of thy loins; and I will make for him a spokesman. And I, behold, I will give unto him that he shall write the writing of the fruit of thy loins, unto the fruit of thy loins; and the spokesman of thy loins shall declare it.

This seer in the latter-days will publish for the house of Israel the records which have been kept by the descendants of Jacob over the centuries. These records will go forth to the world . And a spokesman will preach from these records for the seer.

2 Nephi 3:19 And the words which he shall write shall be the words which are expedient in my wisdom should go forth unto the fruit of thy loins. And it shall be as if the fruit of thy loins had cried unto them from the dust; for I know their faith.

The words that will come to the world through this seer will be just enough to show what the people of the earth need to do to be saved. These words will be like someone who has spoken from the past who is now dead. The Lord knows that the people of the latter-days will be ready to hear of it because of their desires God knew about in the pre-existence.

2 Nephi 3:20 And they shall cry from the dust; yea, even repentance unto their brethren, even after many generations have gone by them. And it shall come to pass that their cry shall go, even according to the simpleness of their words.

The words of this book will plead for future generations to repent and get their lives in order. It will come forth after many years shall have gone by. (about 1400 years). The topics covered in the book will be simple and easy to understand. No mysteries or difficult concept will be covered.
