2 Nephi 8:21 - 8:25
2 Nephi 8:21 Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, and not with wine:
The Lord is now pleading again with Israel who are so caught up in their plight that they can hardly see that the Lord is behind their troubles.
2 Nephi 8:22 Thus saith thy Lord, the Lord and thy God pleadeth the cause of his people; behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again.
But this condition will not last forever. In time war and famine will be removed by the Lord from their mist.
2 Nephi 8:23 But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; who have said to thy soul: Bow down, that we may go over—and thou hast laid thy body as the ground and as the street to them that went over.
And those who are making war against Israel will now feel the conditions that they are inflicting on Israel. Israel enemies will now be the recipients of war and famine.
2 Nephi 8:24 Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Seek the Lord and He will give Israel the strength to defeat his enemies. With this strength, Israel will no long have to deal with the wicked who want to destroy him.
2 Nephi 8:25 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit down, O Jerusalem; loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
Again come to the Lord and He will free Jerusalem from all her enemies. Repent of her sins and the Lord will fight her battles and her foes will be vanquish.
