2 Nephi 28:6 - 28:10
2 Nephi 28:6 Behold, hearken ye unto my precept; if they shall say there is a miracle wrought by the hand of the Lord, believe it not; for this day he is not a God of miracles; he hath done his work.
Even more men are saying that miracles are a thing of the past. They are no longer happening in our day. If one should see or hear of a miracle, it is a false one and should be ignored. God is no longer doing such things on the earth today. Again we know enough to get the job done on our own.
2 Nephi 28:7 Yea, and there shall be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us.
Since we are on our own, lets have a good time. Do what feels good at the moment because life is short and we will not be able to enjoy this experience forever.
2 Nephi 28:8 And there shall also be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God—he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
Some having even gone so far as to say that because God no longer speaks to us, that we can pretty much do as we please. God may be upset at what we may do, being on our own, but He will understand that we are weak and may punishes us briefly for our sins, but in the end all will be forgiven and we will be ok. Repentance will not be required of us so in the end do what feels good and we worry about the consequences later.
2 Nephi 28:9 Yea, and there shall be many which shall teach after this manner, false and vain and foolish doctrines, and shall be puffed up in their hearts, and shall seek deep to hide their counsels from the Lord; and their works shall be in the dark.
Anyway these are the concepts of men which they will teach each other to justify their actions to make themselves feel good. They will become proud of what they have gotten away with and try to see what they can get away with in addition. Most of these things they will do in secret combinations and out of the public eye.
2 Nephi 28:10 And the blood of the saints shall cry from the ground against them.
Many who have been either cheated or victims of their crimes will after their death seek from the Lord vengeance for their sufferings.
