2 Nephi 30:11 - 30:18

2 Nephi 30:11 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

The righteous will survive whatever destruction that takes place to mark the beginning of the 1000 years of peace much like that which is described in Third Nephi. Righteous will be the rule and it will not have to compete with wickedness for domination.

2 Nephi 30:12 And then shall the wolf dwell with the lamb; and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf, and the young lion, and the fatling, together; and a little child shall lead them.

All things will be a peace with one another. Animals will no long eat each other or be enemies. Children will also not be in danger of physical harm from animals that would normally hurt or kill them.

2 Nephi 30:13 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Animals such as Bears will no longer worry the Cow and her young. Lions will eat vegetation rather than meat and all will live together without fearing each other.

2 Nephi 30:14 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’s den.

Children will not be harmed by stinging insects or other animals that normally fear humans that come close to them.

2 Nephi 30:15 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

The millennial reign will be marked by increased knowledge of God and how he works to perfect man in the eternal plan of salvation. Every man over all the earth will know that he is a child of God and will willingly live the gospel without compulsion. Every person on this planet will know about the Lord and be carrying out His commandments.

2 Nephi 30:16 Wherefore, the things of all nations shall be made known; yea, all things shall be made known unto the children of men.

Knowledge of the history of this planet will be common knowledge. The good and the bad of mankind will be know to all who live during the millennium.

2 Nephi 30:17 There is nothing which is secret save it shall be revealed; there is no work of darkness save it shall be made manifest in the light; and there is nothing which is sealed upon the earth save it shall be loosed.

Whatever evil that was committed by various governments over the history of earth will be known to all. And all will know why the various systems of government failed to achieve peace and security for its people. Any obligation created by men to each other will be done away with. All contracts will be void in favor of doing things the Lord’s way. (Man has had 6000 years or so to do things right but have failed. Now the Lord is going to take over and show them the right way to govern.)

2 Nephi 30:18 Wherefore, all things which have been revealed unto the children of men shall at that day be revealed; and Satan shall have power over the hearts of the children of men no more, for a long time. And now, my beloved brethren, I make an end of my sayings.

To sum up, a complete history of the earth and all of us who lived on it will be available to all people during the Millennium. In addition, satan will be moved to someplace where he cannot influence us anymore. We will be free from all evil influences and enjoy the peace that can only come from living the gospel to its fullest. This however will last only a fixed amount of time.
