2 Nephi 24:26 - 24:32
2 Nephi 24:26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all nations.
This will be the way the Lord will cleanse the world of evil. All nations will know this as it is happening.
2 Nephi 24:27 For the Lord of Hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
If the plan has been put into place by the Lord, who has power to change it?
2 Nephi 24:28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.
With the death of Ahaz, Palestine thinks it is now free of domination by others.
2 Nephi 24:29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken; for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
Think not that since king Ahaz is dead that the inhabitants of Palestine are safe from foreign invasions because they are not. Another enemy is not far behind and waiting to pounce.
2 Nephi 24:30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety; and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.
However, the Lord will give protection to the Palestine if they come and join Israel.
2 Nephi 24:31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved; for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
The whole country of Palestine maybe under threat of other powers but they can enjoy the peace that is available to Israel if they will repent and live the gospel.
2 Nephi 24:32 What shall then answer the messengers of the nations? That the Lord hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
Their enemies will see if this happens that they cannot be conquered because the Lord is protecting them.
