2 Nephi 26:26 -2 Nephi 26:33
2 Nephi 26:26 Behold, hath he commanded any that they should depart out of the synagogues, or out of the houses of worship? Behold, I say unto you, Nay.
The Lord has never told anyone to leave a church meeting or get out of a church building:
2 Nephi 26:27 Hath he commanded any that they should not partake of his salvation? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but he hath given it free for all men; and he hath commanded his people that they should persuade all men to repentance.
Has the Lord told anybody not bother Him about their own salvation? Has He told anyone that they could not come to Him anymore? No. He has continually been calling men to come to Him so He can show them how to prepare for the eternities.
2 Nephi 26:28 Behold, hath the Lord commanded any that they should not partake of his goodness? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but all men are privileged the one like unto the other, and none are forbidden.
Has He at anytime told anyone not to get in on the good things He can offer to us mortals? Even the most vile sinner has been encouraged by Him to come to Him so He can show them how to rid themselves of their weaknesses.
2 Nephi 26:29 He commandeth that there shall be no priestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion.
He has gone so far as to say that no man can accept pay for teachings these doctrines and helping people to come to Him. In fact anyone who seeks pay, does so because their motivation is only that they can show that they better than the rest of us. They want to be looked up to and get special privileges not available to all only want to increase their own fortunes.
2 Nephi 26:30 Behold, the Lord hath forbidden this thing; wherefore, the Lord God hath given a commandment that all men should have charity, which charity is love. And except they should have charity they were nothing. Wherefore, if they should have charity they would not suffer the laborer in Zion to perish.
The Lord has forbidden the teaching of the gospel for money or that it should be an occupation. Those who feel the urge to bring the gospel to the world should do so because they love people like the Lord does. He does not work for money and charges us no money because of His love for us. We should likewise only work for each others salvation with the same motivation. Because what if a person has no money how would they get salvation? We must try to help each other because of love for one another not because we get paid.
2 Nephi 26:31 But the laborer in Zion shall labor for Zion; for if they labor for money they shall perish.
Again we work to help our brothers and sisters not for money but because we want to see us all gain all that is possible for us to have in the eternities. And anyone thinking they should be paid to do this will feel out of place among those who did so out of their love for all of us.
2 Nephi 26:32 And again, the Lord God hath commanded that men should not murder; that they should not lie; that they should not steal; that they should not take the name of the Lord their God in vain; that they should not envy; that they should not have malice; that they should not contend one with another; that they should not commit whoredoms; and that they should do none of these things; for whoso doeth them shall perish.
Along with the above commandments, Nephi is reiterating the Ten Commandments. Not living the Ten Commandments always leads to difficulties between individuals and often results in various crimes against one another. Anyone violating the commandments will have to repent or suffer for their own sins.
2 Nephi 26:33 For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.
Remember that any thing that causes men to hunt other men is not from the Lord. The Lord only desire is for men to be good to one another and to see to each other’s personal welfare. Anything He does is plain to see and there is always an invitation for anyone to come to Him and be instructed in the ways that will bring happiness to all. He does not restrict who can come to Him. There is no classification or label that man puts on each other that the Lord recognizes as making anyone not unfit to hear the gospel.
