2 Nephi 32:1 - 32:5

2 Nephi 32:1 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, I suppose that ye ponder somewhat in your hearts concerning that which ye should do after ye have entered in by the way. But, behold, why do ye ponder these things in your hearts?

Nephi perceives that his audience is wondering what they should do after they have said they would do as the Lord has commanded them. They want to know, what is the next step. Nephi wonders if they have been listening to him.

2 Nephi 32:2 Do ye not remember that I said unto you that after ye had received the Holy Ghost ye could speak with the tongue of angels? And now, how could ye speak with the tongue of angels save it were by the Holy Ghost?

He reminds them of what he said concerning the Holy Ghost. Those under the influence of the Holy Ghost speak and say what the angels would speak to us if they were to visit us.

2 Nephi 32:3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.

The angels do indeed speak by the power of the Holy Ghost and what they speak are the things that Jesus would say to you it He were to communicate with you in person. Now because the words in the scriptures are from the Holy Ghost, pay careful attention to them. They are just what you need to know. Toknow how to behave and what we should do to deal with the problems of this world. Not only read them but think about them, reread and think of ways to apply them to the situations you live with everyday. Just don’t read or let the words pass before your eyes but think deeply and see what revelations come to you as you meditate over them. (I give you my personal testimony that this is exactly what happens as you meditate over them. In fact, these words of mine you are reading now, and hope are reading everyday, are inspiration from the Holy Ghost. I hope that you all are, indeed, being inspired by the Holy Ghost everyday and are seeking for that inspiration everyday.)

2 Nephi 32:4 Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words, if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock; wherefore, ye are not brought into the light, but must perish in the dark.

Nephi says that if a person cannot make any sense from the words of Christ it is because you have not asked for inspiration regarding them. You have undoubtedly not given them the heed they deserve. The result will be that you will not get what is in them so that you can cope with life and you will then be going about using your own wisdom. And that will result in your not having the saving knowledge you need to get back to God and the devil will have control over you and you will fall.

2 Nephi 32:5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.

However, if you have been baptized and received the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost will give you the application of the scriptures in your personal life with your very own personal problems. You will not be on your own, but will have the revelation you need to deal with the problems of life and mortality.
