Alma 11:36 - 11:40

Alma 11:36 Now Amulek saith again unto him: Behold thou hast lied, for thou sayest that I spake as though I had authority to command God because I said he shall not save his people in their sins.

Amulek accuses Zeezrom of lying now. Amulek accuses him to telling the folks in the crowd that he had authority to command God when Zeezrom knew that was not what he was saying. Just because Amulek said that God will not save the people IN their sins was not telling God that he was not to save his children at all, but that Amulek was merely stating a fact.

What Amulek will say is that God will save his children FROM their sins not in their sins. In other words He will provide a way to satisfy the demands of justice that is required by us for those who violate laws and commandments.

Alma 11:37 And I say unto you again that he cannot save them in their sins; for I cannot deny his word, and he hath said that no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore, how can ye be saved, except ye inherit the kingdom of heaven? Therefore, ye cannot be saved in your sins.

Amulek reemphasizes that the God cannot save people IN their sins. He cannot allow people who have not repented to be in heaven. An unrepented sinner will not be allowed in heaven. The bottom line is if a person will not repent they are still sinners and sinners cannot come into heaven.

Heaven is a place of repented sinners. Unrepented sinners would not be comfortable there. Besides, heaven is for people trying to prefect themselves and those who are not interested in perfecting themselves would feel out of place.

Alma 11:38 Now Zeezrom saith again unto him: Is the Son of God the very Eternal Father?

Zeezrom asks if the Son of God is the very Eternal Father?

Let’s remember Eternal Father is a title of an office not that he is literally the father of our spirits. He is the Eternal Father because of his office and calling and therefore what he has done for us.

Alma 11:39 And Amulek said unto him: Yea, he is the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth, and all things which in them are; he is the beginning and the end, the first and the last;

Amulek affirms that the Son of God is the Eternal Father, because of His creating the heavens and the earth. Everything started with Him and will finish with Him. All the events from the beginning of the earth history to the end of its life is under Him control.

Alma 11:40 And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else.

Part of this calling of Eternal Father, is to come to earth as a man and become the scape goat for all of mankind. Those who accept His sacrifice on their behave will live with God again and those who want no part of it, will not have that privilege.

They would not like it in heaven anyway so why put people somewhere they don’t want to be.
