Alma 20:6 - 20:10

Alma 20:6 Now when Lamoni had heard this he caused that his servants should make ready his horses and his chariots.

Lamoni readied his chariots and horses to take Ammon and himself to the land of Middoni.

Alma 20:7 And he said unto Ammon: Come, I will go with thee down to the land of Middoni, and there I will plead with the king that he will cast thy brethren out of prison.

Lamoni said he would intercede with the king of that land to free his brother and his friends.

Alma 20:8 And it came to pass that as Ammon and Lamoni were journeying thither, they met the father of Lamoni, who was king over all the land.

On the way to Middoni, they ran into the father of Lamoni, the king of all the Lamanites.

Alma 20:9 And behold, the father of Lamoni said unto him: Why did ye not come to the feast on that great day when I made a feast unto my sons, and unto my people?

The king asked his son why did he not come to the feast that he had prepared for all his people.

Wonder if it was one of the holidays that Jews normally celebrate but only Lamanite style. After all even if Laman and Lemuel rebelled against Nephi, they still would have commemorated the holidays. Bad guys still observe Christmas.

Alma 20:10 And he also said: Whither art thou going with this Nephite, who is one of the children of a liar?

And noticing that Lamoni had a Nephite with him, asked where he was going and why he had a Nephite with him being that Nephites were not to be associated with.
