Alma 33:11 - 33:15

Alma 33:11 And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son.

Zenos says that the reason his prayers were heard was because of the Son of God. The Father ordained the Son to pay attention to the needs of us all and report to Him. This is true for all kinds of prayers whether in dire need or otherwise. His is a knowledge that brings Zenos great joy to know that, indeed, his prayers are important and wanted.

Alma 33:12 And now Alma said unto them: Do ye believe those scriptures which have been written by them of old?

Alma asked the crowd if they believe in the scriptures?

Alma 33:13 Behold, if ye do, ye must believe what Zenos said; for, behold he said: Thou hast turned away thy judgments because of thy Son.

Alma says that logic dictates that if one does believe in the scriptures, then one has to believe the truthfulness of what Zenos said and that the Son of God does hear and answer our prayers not matter where or when they are offered.

Alma 33:14 Now behold, my brethren, I would ask if ye have read the scriptures? If ye have, how can ye disbelieve on the Son of God?

The next question of Alma is have they actually read the scriptures? If they have then they must have to believe in the Son of God.

Alma 33:15 For it is not written that Zenos alone spake of these things, but Zenock also spake of these things—

Not only has Zenos brought up this same topic but so has Zenock.
